Troye Sas-Wright, Ph.D.

Associate Engineer

Our world is full of energy systems we interact with daily, which are actually quite amazing! Set your thermostat and your house cools to a comfortable temperature. Open your tap and hot water pours out. I enjoy the work of making this magic more efficient. Delivering reliable service with lower environmental impact and at a reduced cost is what drives me in this industry.

Troye joined Michaels Energy in March 2026. In his role as an engineer based in Richmond, Virginia, he conducts building assessments as well as new construction building analysis, providing energy savings recommendations to customers.

Troye graduated with his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from The Ohio State University. During his fellowship, Troye created building energy models and analyzed indoor environmental data. His research in the Sustainable Buildings Laboratory focused on developing HVAC strategies that improve energy efficiency and indoor air quality.

In his free time, Troye enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing. He likes to spend the weekends trying a new restaurant or watching a football game with friends.
