Tierney Kilgariff, E.I.T.
Associate Engineer
I love spreadsheets, Gantt charts, and to-do lists—anything that helps me fall asleep knowing my time was well-spent. Thinking globally, energy efficiency is important because it’s intrinsic to the energy transition. Not only do I love being efficient, but also finding ways to be more efficient. Professionally and personally, efficiency only seems natural!
In 8th grade, Tierney’s bike was stolen and to pay for a new bike, she became an apprentice at a local bike shop. Without getting too philosophical about bikes, bike mechanics left an indelible mark on Tierney and led her to Mechanical Engineering. After taking Thermodynamics, she became enthralled with the study of energy. Along the way to her BS, she studied abroad in France and directed the Nordic Ski Team. After graduating in 2020, she worked in residential HVAC design.
Currently, she is pursuing an MS in Energy Systems at the University of California, Davis. She works with Facilities Management to track down energy waste on campus and meet carbon neutrality goals. Outside of work and classes, she enjoys playing ultimate, learning Spanish, and giving belly rubs to her dog, Theo.
