Riley Jones
Associate Engineer
As a child, my favorite questions were “how does this work” and “why”. Now, I am increasingly curious to answer “how could this work better” – both for the environment and for the people interacting with systems. I am excited to explore the energy efficiency profession – practicing technical and human-centric systems thinking. I am even more excited to learn from wonderful people who believe in the ‘why’ of their work!
Riley joined Michaels the summer of 2024. She will be based in the Colorado office, helping to support the Strategic Energy Management (SEM) and City of Denver electrification programs. In her capacity as an intern, she will be assisting with calculations, report generation, and accompanying engineers on site visits.
Graduating next May, Riley is studying Integrated Design Engineering at CU Boulder, focusing on Environmental and Energy Engineering. She works as a Course Assistant for sustainability-focused engineering projects classes, helping students practice the engineering design process and bring their ideas to life. She is involved with the CU’s Presidents Leadership Class, often coordinating community events and volunteer opportunities that promote environmental stewardship and civic engagement.
In true Colorado fashion, Riley’s hobbies include hiking, skiing, and running. When not exploring trails, she loves to bake pie and read historical fiction.
