Jesse Trujillo, E.I.T.

Engineer

Energy savings don’t happen because of spreadsheets and calculations — they happen because of trust. When engineers earn the trust of the people running the equipment, ideas turn into action. That’s where real savings happen.

Jesse joined Michaels Energy in August 2022 and serves as an Engineer supporting industrial customers in the ComEd Strategic Energy Management (SEM) program. His work focuses on identifying meaningful efficiency opportunities, quantifying savings with engineering rigor, and helping facilities turn analysis into real-world implementation.

Jesse earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University along with a minor in Physics and an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification. Before joining Michaels Energy, he worked for thyssenkrupp Dynamic Components, where he supported automotive manufacturing operations through process engineering, energy management, and industrial efficiency initiatives.

Outside of work, Jesse enjoys staying active through running and strength training, tending his Chicago garden, baking, and traveling with his wife, Tillie. He has played the piano since childhood and appreciates a well-crafted bourbon. As a Chicago resident and sports fan, he also enjoys exploring the city’s incredible food scene.
