Smarter Cold Storage Starts with Smarter Energy Storage

Cut Energy Costs, Flatten Peak Demand, and Boost Resiliency Without Compromising Product Safety

In cold storage and logistics, uptime and temperature stability are non-negotiable. But energy costs and demand charges don’t need to be. Our proprietary IceRack™ thermal energy storage system allows you to shift refrigeration loads off-peak, dramatically reduce energy spend, and enhance system resilience – all without sacrificing performance.

Is your cold storage facility prepared for rising energy costs?

Thermal energy storage helps flip the script. It lets your system do the heavy lifting when power is cheaper and ease off when the grid is stressed. No changes to product temperatures. No operational drama. Just more control over when you use power.

The real question is: does it make sense for your facility? Download the IceRack Readiness Checklist. In a few minutes you can see whether your refrigeration system could become a resilience asset, not just an operating expense.

Once you’ve reviewed the Checklist, contact us via the form below to chat with us about your results.

What is IceRack?

IceRack™, a thermal energy storage system, is a proven strategy that stores cooling energy during off-peak hours and dispatches it when electricity costs are highest. IceRack™ integrates with your existing refrigeration systems to cut demand charges and reduce strain on the electric grid.

Top Benefits:

  • Reduce energy and demand charges by up to 30%
  • Maintain temperature stability and product integrity
  • Meet Scope 1 & 2 decarbonization goals
  • Enhance backup and grid resilience
  • Tap into utility and state incentives

IceRack™ stores cooling energy during off-peak hours (overnight) and discharges it during high-cost peak periods or power outages.

WalMart Central America

WalMart Central America installed the IceRackTM system in the largest cold storage distribution center in Central America. This will allow WalMart to see nearly 20% energy efficiency savings along with providing resiliency in case of power outages.

AK Pizza

AK Pizza in Minnesota installed the IceRackTM system to its holding freezer to help shed load during the peak hours of the day. The system will provide, on average, $1,200 a year in energy savings. This installation also provides an additional 99 refrigeration tons to the space while savings 5.4 metric tons of CO2, equivalent to taking 2 passenger cars off the road for a year.

Kids' Food Basket

Kids’ Food Basket in Grand Rapids, MI installated our IceRackTM system in their freezer. The energy savings and efficiency will allow for 1,500 more meals to be served every year. The installation will cut nearly 13 metric tons of CO2 annually, equivalent to removing 3 gas-powered cars from the road for a year; while also saving more than $3,000 a year in energy costs.
