Lucas Pineda

Associate Engineer

Growing up in a family of engineers, we have never thrown out an appliance before taking it apart and trying to fix it. Working on all these projects when I was young is what led me to studying engineering in college. In college, I chose an energy-based senior design project where we built a portable atmospheric water condenser and tested different designs to increase its water-collecting efficiency. The work I did in this project is ultimately what pointed me towards Michaels Energy; where I hope to learn even more about energy efficiency, now in a professional environment.

After graduating with a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Lucas joined Michaels Energy in July 2026. He is going to train for a few months in the La Crosse office, where after that, he will be working on programs out of Iowa.

In his free time, Lucas enjoys traveling to new places, playing and creating music on his ukulele, and surfing on Lake Michigan, especially during the winter.
