Energy efficiency sits at the intersection of economics and impact, where the right decisions drive real returns and measurable results.
Jon Packer is the Vice President of Delivery at Michaels Energy, where he leads an organization across engineering, product management, outreach, program delivery, and customer service. He oversees three core profit centers, Programs, Research and Evaluation, and Energy Solutions, and is responsible for building the operating system required to scale. This includes implementing standardized delivery models, performance dashboards, disciplined capacity planning, and margin accountability across the organization. His current focus is on driving consistency and scalability to support continued growth and operational excellence.
Prior to joining Michaels Energy, Jon served as a Senior C&I Portfolio Manager at Franklin Energy, where he led complex commercial and industrial program portfolios and deepened his experience in delivery, client outcomes, and operational performance. Before that, he spent nearly two decades at Xcel Energy in key leadership roles. As Manager of Commercialization and Solution Sales, he established and led a team responsible for launching, incubating, and scaling innovative energy products. In his role as Manager of Product Management, he directed a $150M energy and DSM portfolio with full P&L responsibility, consistently delivering on annual earnings targets while advancing new business models and market strategies. Across his career, Jon is known for solving complex problems, building high performing teams, and driving results through disciplined, data driven execution.
Jon holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, often at the rink or ballfield with his two sons, and staying active through motocross, fishing, and boating.
