Andrew Victory, E.I.T.

Associate Engineer

Energy can neither be created nor destroyed, only transformed. The first law of thermodynamics has resonated with me since childhood. From cleaning up creeks and maintaining trails in Cub Scouts to leading group hiking trips in college, the road has always led toward a career in the energy industry. Our resources on this planet are finite and energy efficiency is more important than ever.  I hope to make a difference in solving our energy and climate challenges.

Andrew joined Michael’s in April 2025 as an Associate Engineer to support the Research and Evaluation department and the CBSA in the Pacific Northwest. He recently graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He had been working at AECOM as an engineering assessor. This entailed performing facility condition assessments for capital planning purposes.

Andrew graduated with a mechanical engineering degree and a minor in engineering management. During his time in Boulder, he worked on campus, participated in three different internships, and held multiple leadership positions. Andrew was a teaching assistant for a computational methods class and a career development class. He was a grader for a thermodynamics class. He worked the front desk of the Idea Forge (a prototyping facility on campus with a machine shop, wood shop, and other lab spaces). His internships spanned multiple industries: he worked for a carbon sequestration company, general contracting construction company, and the US Navy at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock. He held the position of Treasurer for the Engineering Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi, for two years. He was an officer of the CU Hiking Club for two years and a member for two years.

Andrew spends most of his free time staying active and being outside. He is probably training for a marathon right now or some other absurd distance race. He also enjoys hiking, skiing, camping, backpacking, weightlifting, traveling, climbing, biking, and watching sports.
