Bob Ornstein
Director of Programs
I was drawn to and remain in the energy efficiency world because of all the great people I get to work with. Like me, most people get into this field because they want more than just a job. We’re all in it together to serve the common good by helping companies optimize their energy consumption in a way that leads to lower pollution. Being around people who share that attitude make working in this industry inspiring and even fun.
Bob joined Michaels in November 2022. He is the Programs Department head and manages leaders of the Program Management, Energy Advisor, Lead Engineer, and Customer Support Center team.
Prior to Michaels, Bob prioritized, designed, and managed new program areas for Seattle City Light, including components of its equity-based transportation electrification portfolio. Before that, Bob held a variety of program management and sales support roles with energy efficiency program consultancies that engaged utilities across the country. Beyond his career with electric utilities, Bob worked in Silicon Valley and in Europe, and was a VISTA volunteer. Bob earned his MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and his bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College.
Bob loves tennis and hopes to have a winning record over the 4,000+ matches he’s played. Bob and his wife have two daughters and a dog that they cart around to various activities.
Other note: please remove the equity tag line at the top as well. thank you.
