Customer Support Representative

“Knowledge is power, but enthusiasm pulls the switch.”

When I was offered a Customer Support work assignment with Aston Carter, I didn’t hesitate to accept the position. Although I needed the job at the time, I felt a deeper calling as well. For me, there was a spiritual connection to the company’s name. I chose to take on this assignment because it aligns with my passion for environmental sustainability and my desire to learn something new while making a positive impact. This opportunity enables me to gain knowledge and contribute to a greener future by helping to reduce energy consumption, lower costs, and encourage others to adopt practices that benefit our environment.

I joined Michaels Energy in February 2025 as a temporary employee through Aston Carter. In my role as a Customer Support Representative, I communicate with customers via telephone and email to provide information and assistance related to energy services and rebates. I access customer accounts and make notes of my interactions with them.

In my previous position, I worked as an Administrative Specialist for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids. My responsibilities included managing customer relationship management systems, specifically related to donor information, pledges, and contributions. Unfortunately, I was laid off due to budgetary constraints. After that role, I secured a position at BFHO, Inc. as a Data Entry Processor in a warehouse environment.

I attended the Minnesota School of Business in Richfield, MN, to obtain an associate’s degree in business administration.

In my leisure time, I embrace the beauty of life by taking peaceful walks through the scenic trails of Ellis Park in Cedar Rapids, where nature’s vibrancy and the calming river sounds rejuvenate my spirit. I am passionate about a range of activities that add color to my life. Dancing allows me to express myself freely, while singing brings me joy, whether I’m in the car, on a walk, or surrounded by family in joyful gatherings (Please note that I can sing, but not that well.) Additionally, I value volunteering my time, as I believe it’s important to give back to the community.

Crafting and painting ignite my creativity, as each piece I create reflects my heart and imagination. Most importantly, I cherish the moments spent with my family and grandchildren, whose laughter and energy fill my life with warmth. These precious interactions are the true essence of joy and connection, reminding me of the beauty that surrounds us every day.
