Michaels Energy has provided energy audits for over 2200 facilities, including farming operations, ethanol producers, schools, hospitals, and more. Energy efficiency improvements are a great way offset the rising costs and lower crop prices affecting many farming operations. Michaels Energy can help you conserve resources through farm energy audits, and help you secure the funding to do so. Click here for our Ag Energy Guide.
Michaels Energy has worked with USDA Rural Energy for America (REAP) projects since 2005. REAP provides financial support in the form of grants and loans to agricultural producers and rural small businesses. These funds can be used for renewable energy systems and energy efficiency improvements. Learn more about the REAP program here. And if you’re a rural electric cooperative (REC), there are grants available to you too. Find out more.
Another area of support comes from NRCS. Through NRCS agricultural operations can receive funding for AgEMPs (energy audits) of on-farm and in-field operations. These AgEMPs are designed to promote an efficient use of resources at the farm site and in the field. Find more info on AgEMPs here, or find your local NRCS office here.
