Michaels’ HVAC, electrical and plumbing design experience runs the gamut of building types and services. From installation of ground-source heat pumps for conversion of a historic hotel to apartments, to achieving 30% electrical savings by redesigning a poorly performing heat pump system in a 4-year old high school.
While we’ve completed our share of new construction and major remodeling projects, the purpose of much of our work has been fixing problems or reducing energy use in existing buildings of all types. We’ve studied hundreds of systems that don’t work the way they should (or can’t work in some cases) and figured out how to fix them. This requires getting into the mind of the original designer and the facility operators, determining what went wrong, and redesigning to fix the problem. Our extensive experience means we’ve seen just about everything that can go wrong, and thus know how to avoid problems in our new system designs.
